We are a group of people from different background who randomly met and share the same interest in helping stray cats. Starting from several individuals who routinely organize street feeding by providing food and water to cats at some areas in Jakarta and Depok. We then communicate via social media and group chat.
Our individual ability is limited to organize Trap Neuter/Spay Return (TNR) and help cats in our home and office neigborhood. So we started Catrescue.id to organize TNR and help cats living in public spaces.
We are learning to better organize ourselves and voluntarily contribute whatever we have, time, energy, thoughts and materials. We strive to continue to do the best for street cats while organizing TNR and sharing educational materials.
Our focus is TNR and helping sick cats in the colony we monitor. We are greatly helped by donations and adoptions from people who care. We also share information through Catrescue.id website and social media such as Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
Through our website and social media, we strive to provide useful content so that more people can better help stray cats. We invite you to write about your experiences or create infographic posters to be published on our website and social media. Please visit the Bahasa Indonesia version of this site for more information.
We are a group of volunteers who share our time to help each other and share what we have. We invite everyone who can share their time and make the effort to contribute positively to help street cats. Please visit the Bahasa Indonesia version of this site for more information and to get the registration form.
Adopt & Foster
We invite every home to adopt at least one street cat. We need a home and family, especially for cats with special needs, kittens, sick cats and senior cats. We also need a home to care for cats after sterilization. Please visit the Bahasa Indonesia version of this site for more information and to get the application form for adoption.

Where are the cats?
We are a group of people who live and work in Jakarta Greater Area. The cats that we help and TNR are generally live in public places that we often pass. You can also do the same for cats that you often see on the street or in other public spaces.
What is Catrescue.id?
Catrescue.id is a group of individuals who first met while feeding street cats living public spaces in Jakarta and Depok. We said hello to each other and started talking further about helping the cats. We then established more frequent communication through Whatsapp Group.
How to donate to Catrescue.id?
Donations can be channelled using a credit card through an electronic form on Catrescue.id site, or via a bank transfer.
Catrescue.id account is an account dedicated to receiving donations and payments for TNR activities and treatment of sick cats, even though the account is under the name of one of our volunteers.
Please send proof of transfer to firstname.lastname@example.org. We need your email address to send financial reports every one or two months.
If you want to send donations via other means, please contact us on email@example.com or direct message us on social media.
Can Catrescue.id take cats?
Catrescue.id cannot take or rescue the cats that you find on the street, because, we:
- Do not have an office or a headquarter.
- Are NOT a shelter.
- Do not have a vehicle.
- Do not have a field team.
- Do not have employees.
- Do not organize TNR at locations other than the four colonies that we monitor.
- Are NOT accepting reports to rescue cats.
We invite you to get involved and help street cats with us. You can start by feeding and organizing TNR for cats living around your home and office neighbourhood.
What should I do if I find a sick cat on the street?
We are the first help for the sick cats, senior cats or kittens could get.
Try your best to take them directly to the veterinary clinic, veterinarian, animal health centre or the nearest Animal Husbandry Department to be examined and given first aid.
You can be honest with the veterinarian about the cat. Tell them that it is a street cat and if you need financial assistance.
If you receive donations, be sure to report to the donors, and periodically provide an update about the cat.
If you cannot take the cat to be examined by a veterinarian, seek help by:
Take a good quality of photo or video.
Turn off the video sound if there are certain sounds.
Upload on your social media platforms.
Open the privacy settings so it can be shared.
Tag or mention Catrescue.id on social media.
Tag or mention accounts that have many followers, especially those from the same or nearest city.
Don't give the location too detailed to avoid people dumping cats in that area.
Even a small contribution
can make a big difference!
